Workshop on Presupposition Accommodation
October 13th - October 15th, 2006
On the OSU main campus, Columbus, Ohio
The workshop on presupposition accommodation will bring together
scholars from a variety of academic disciplines
to share research and ideas on the topic of presupposition
accommodation. The organizers have commissioned papers on the topic
by leading scholars in pragmatics, formal semantics,
psycholinguistics, philosophy, and artificial intelligence. These
papers will be available on this site in June, 2006. The workshop itself, in
October, 2006,
will consist of comments on the commissioned papers, extended
discussion, and a poster session. Through
this interactive website, we hope that the discussion begun at the
workshop will be sustained and extended to include additional members
of the international research community.
Preceding the workshop, there will be a one-week intensive course for
graduate students in the relevant disciplines, to prepare them to
appreciate the background literature and issues in this area and
to optimally benefit from the workshop.
This website is the central locus of information for workshop
participants as well as for those wishing to contribute to the online
conversation in our forums and chat space.
